HIFU and Ultherapy: What's the Difference?

Every one wishes for a slimmer and tighter skin as you get older and yet, not every one is willing to go through under the knife to achieve that V-shaped face. That is why non-surgical face lifts were invented, and some of the words you will usually hear connected to it are HIFU and Ultherapy.

So what makes the two different from another?

Though both uses ultrasound technology that creates heat and eventually leads to collagen remodeling, there is one thing that separates them.

HIFU is a technological breakthrough invented to treat wrinkles and sagging in the face and body. It was first approved by the Food and Drug Administrations for brow lifting and then after, has proven its effectiveness in improving the appearance of the wrinkles, smoothing out fine lines, and lifting the cheeks and jawline.

Ultherapy, on the other hand, delivers the same results just like any other HIFU but the difference is that this is the only US-FDA approved non-surgical face lift device as of this time. Although, some HIFU machines are approved in some countries. Ultherapy is also the only machine that has an ultrasound imaging that enables doctors or aestheticians to actually see the layers of the skin being targeted during treatment, making it practically more expensive than other machines.

So basically, these two are excellent recommendations for people who wants to address signs of skin aging like fine lines, as well as lift, tighten and firm some areas of the face with laxity, without having to undergo surgery, which is much more costly than non-surgical treatments.

We recommend doing additional and intensive research on your options and acquire as much information as you can as this will contribute in your process of choosing what's best for your skin.
